Drywall Finishing Is Not Such A Difficult Task

There are some basic steps for drywalling the home to improve its appearance. Some of the things you will need include a tray, putty trial, joint putty, sandpaper and a scraper.

Before you commence drywalling you will firstly need to sand all the walls so that you can remove all those unsightly lumps. After sanding you need to wipe off the wall's surface to remove all traces of extra sand. Keep sanding until you get to see the whitish portion of the wall. However this will not apply for wood walls.

If you happen to have walls which have some holes in them, you could repair them up with the help of a scraper and putty trial. Keep applying the joint putty to plug in the holes in the walls. You might need to put in an extra layer of putty to cover the holes completely. So keep at it till all holes are fully covered. Then finish off by scraping thr surface to ensure a smooth finish.

Make sure to thoroughly use sandpaper to smoothen out any rough surfaces on the wall and also follow up with washing the wall, before you start drywalling. Washing the wall will remove any traces of dust on the surface. Before you start sandpapering you will need to ensure that the surface is kept dry.

Once you complete the above mentioned steps, you can commence drywalling by implementing these steps as will be given in the kit you bought.

Once you complete the drywalling process, as provided in the kit, you need to apply a coat of paint on the wall surface to make it look more lively and interesting. Sometimes you might need to keep applying several coats of paint before the required finish can be obtained. Make sure to let the paint dry thoroughly and then perform final finishing touches by arranging the curtains, furniture etc. in a different manner.

You need to finish off with the foundation coat first and then let the paint dry thoroughly before you can actually place anything against this drywalled area. While painting the base or foundation coat, make sure to protect the region above line that indicates the base, and also before you commence painting you need to shield the whole region.

Once the painting has been completed and has dried thoroughly you can use your imagination and creativity to lay a plan on designing the room. You could also choose to provide some added texture and finish. For something on the fancier side, you could probably purchase a new set of curtains which match the shade of the paint coat applied. Thus the curtains will complement the fresh paint perfectly. You could also add flowers along with vases for added effect.

Once the painting is completed you could provide twirling in order to complete drywalling of the ceiling area. This will provide a kind of popcorn effect on the wall.

Once you buy new curtains which match with the color of the paint, or change the design of the room by rearranging things, it can really improve the look and appeal of your home. Once the home improves in its appearance it can also signify an automatic improvement in home equity.

While actual home improvement will cost you just a couple of hundred dollars, the value on the house will increase by several thousands - which is great return on investment.

If you have the necessary capital to invest in home improvement, do not procrastinate about it till later. While drywalling is quite a simple procedure it could be a little time consuming and the more time you wait it out the more time will be taken in remodelling the house.
