Finding Wholesale Sources Is It Really That Freakin Hard?

By: Graham Waite

If you are at all serious at building your ebay business in to a life long means of income at some stage you are going to have to find a wholesaler to provide you products to sell.

Surely it can't be that hard to find wholesalers willing to provide you goods to sell can it? Well my fellow eBay entrepreneur I have some rather disappointing news for you. The vast majority of wholesalers would rather sell to their established off line customers rather than a newbie start up on eBay.

So where should you start when trying to find a reliable wholesale source?

I have found that the very best way to find good wholesalers is to do plenty of reasearch first. One way is to search using google with your keyword such as "computers wholesale" or similar search phrases.

I am quite suprised that not that many people look on eBay for wholesale goods even though there is a entire category dedicated to wholesale goods. You can find it by putting in words like wholesale and wholesale lots which came up with over 37,000 listings in the eBay search engine when I searched.

The most easiest method I have found and the one I use most often is to use a reliable online wholesale source directory my favorite being the World Wide Brands Source which you can get information on at http://www.auctionwealthsecrets.com/directory. I find this an invaluable source and it has contributed significantly to my eBay success.

For those live in larger citites and towns there are tradeshows where you can meet suppliers face to face. As these events are exclusive to businesses you only get serious players and this gives you a chance to build contacts and set up deals. Make sure before you go to these events you have done your homework so you look like a serious player and not a wannabe.

Although intimidating you could just get out the local or even national business directory and start contacting companies by phone. If you are trying to source products from abroad you may want to make initial contact via email or letter to ensure you can speak to some one who speaks your language or you will need to arrange an interpreter to act on your behalf as a very last resort.

When you have been working with suppliers for a while you'll find they might improve deals that you had with them although you may need to suggest this. If the supplier values you business then they should be able to offer better terms making you more profits.
