How To Get More Sales Leads Using Google Adwords

If you sell to other businesses (B2B) and your business needs a steady flow of sales leads then this article is for you.

This article is a primer to get you started on the right foot.

Google AdWords is a great tool for getting in front of your potential customers at the very moment they're actively searching for what you sell.

Here's the most commonly accepted process for generating sales leads using Google Adwords:

Give something away that is of value to your potential customers. Put your giveaway on your website and you require your visitors to fill out your registration form before they can access your giveaway. You generate leads when your visitors fill out your registration form.

Once your free giveaway is on your website you open a Google AdWords account, write an ad that clearly promotes your free giveaway, choose keywords related to your offer, then when your potential customers click on your ad you send them directly to your web page containing your free offer.

The Four Steps to Using Google AdWords to Generate Leads for Your Business.

1. Design Your Giveaway (Lead Generation Magnet). Giveaway something of true value here. Demos, trials, white papers, and how-to guides tend to work best.

2.) Create a web page to promote your free giveaway. The goal of this page is to promote your free giveaway and to get your visitors to fill out your registration form and become a lead. Here's how your page should look: Headline - Clearly call out the main benefit of your free giveaway here. Overview Paragraph - Here's where you give a brief description of your giveaway. Bullet Points - Next put 3-5 benefit driven bullet points calling out the main benefits of your offer. Registration Form - This is where you ask your visitors to register before they can get your free giveaway. This is also how you generate leads. When your visitors fill out your registration form they become a lead for you. Keep this page simple. Rmember your goal is to get your visitors to register and become a lead.

3. Open a Google AdWords account. Select the countries, states, cities etc. where you want your ads to show up, write an Ad promoting your free giveaway, choose a few keywords related to your giveaway, set your desired daily budget and cost per click, then send your visitors to the landing page URL that you created in step 2.

4. Take advantage of Conversion Tracking. Conversion tracking allows you to see how many leads your generating, and how much it's costing you per lead on average. This information allows you to measure your Return On Investment (ROI). Google offers a free conversion tracking tool in your AdWords account. Place the small snippet of code that Google provides and insert it on your thank you page, the page that is displayed after someone registers on your thank you page.
