Though the name makaveli is popular now as an urban clothing line, the legacy behind it is still in our hearts. Now you might think that the makaveli clothing line was founded by Tupac himself. No, the brand was founded by Afeni Shakur. It was for the purpose of keeping the legacy of her son alive through fashion.

After serving eleven months of his one-and-a-half year to four-and-a-half year sentence, Shakur was released from the penitentiary, due in large part to the help and influence of Marion "Suge" Knight, CEO of Death Row Records. That was also the time when 2pac have started to use his stage name makaveli.
